You may be in a position where you have purchased virgin remy hair extensions from a vendor that does not color the hair for you. True virgin remy hair can be both highlighted and colored to fit your hair color needs. The guide below will take you through, step-by-step, how we recommend that you color our hair extensions – which are virgin remy and remy hair. The product used for this purpose is our signature Remy Kinky Straight Chinese hair(our most popular product).
Step 1 – Seal the wefts
Before you do anything else, you should always make sure to seal the weft to make sure that the hair will not shed once you start manipulating and cutting the wefts.
Step 2 – Mix the potion
I have tried many differnt highlighting products on our hair extensions hair as well as other hair extensions brands and my experience tells me that ‘L’Oreal’s quick blue highlighting powder’ is the most powerful and efficient bleach available! Mix the quick blue with 40% developer. This will bring the hair down to a # 27 or in some cases lighter. If you need lighter than this, you should highlight the hair twice! Keep in mind that you should never use these measures on your own hair because chances are your hair will not stand the test! The Indian, Malaysian and Chinese hair selected for hair extensions is the best and the strongest found at the temples where it was collected!
Step 3 – Apply to Hair Extensions hair
Apply the mixture to the hair extensions hair and leave on for 50 minutes. Make sure every strand is saturated in the bleach or else the result will look very uneven. Remember that this is powerful toxic stuff – keep it away from your pets, children and so forth. Always wear gloves.
Step 4 – Rinse Hair
After 50 minutes the hair will look somewhat like the picture below. Rinse till water is clear and then apply shampoo and rinse again.
Step 5 – Condition hair
Highlighting human hair, strips it of it’s necessary proteins and moisture, make sure to condition the hair after bleaching the extensions. We recommend Aphogee products for protein, and Aussie Moist products for moisture.
The Finished Product
I hope this guide helped you get you hair extensions the color you need. If you are simply needing a lighter brown color, you can always bleach the hair and then apply the color you need on top. Our hair extensions hair is pretty strong, so as long as you remember to condition the hair properly- it will still last you a looooong time :-)
